  • Thermal Staking : This is the most common type of heat staking. This process uses an oven or infrared torch to heat up the metal parts and then apply pressure on them using a specialized tool called a staking press. This type of heat staking uses a heated tool or instrument to melt the material and form a bond between surfaces. The tool is usually made out of special alloy depending on the application.
  • Flared Stake (high profile) : This type of heat staking is used for high profile applications and is generally used for components that need to be attached to a PCB. There are two types of flared stake: single flare and double flare. In this process, the metal part is heated then pressed against another material with pressure applied from an automated tool or press machine.
  • Flared Stake (low profile) : The Flared Stake is used to hold a part in place.The flared stake has a flange that fits around the part and then it is crimped down over the part. This helps secure your workpiece while you are using it, so that it doesn't move around during use or when transporting your workpiece from one job site to another.
  • Spherical Stake (high profile) : This stake is used for applications where a high profile is required. The high profile stakes can be used for applications like rivets or other fasteners that have a small head diameter and need to be installed at an angle on the surface of the material being fastened. High profile stakes are also used when you want your stake to be visible from outside the workpiece, such as with pipes or fixtures in metal fabrication shops.
  • Spherical Stake (low profile) : The spherical stake is a low-profile staking tool and can be used in applications where space is limited. It is also ideal for applications where the component needs to be visible or accessible.
  • Flush Stake :Flush Stake is a type of heat stake that is used to hold a part in place. It is also called a flush pin or a flush rivet. It can be used to hold parts together when there is no room for conventional rivets or screws, but if you want to use the flush method, it needs to be done carefully because if you don't use enough heat, then your metal will become soft and will not hold up well enough once it's put into service. If this happens, it could cause problems during assembly as well as possibly causing other issues like warpage or misalignment during operation (if there was any).
  • Hollow Stake : Hollow stake is a generic term for a stake that has a hollow head. The hollow head can be used to hold nuts, washers and springs. It can also hold keys on key rings.
  • Knurled Stake : A knurled stake is a tool designed specifically for the staking of heat pipes. It has a wide, flat surface that is used to apply pressure against the pipe and achieve maximum friction.
